Emergency & Critical Care
Dr. Ashley Bedarf is originally from Massachusetts and attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst where she received her BS in biology and animal sciences in 2008. After graduation, Dr. Bedarf moved to Ohio and obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at The Ohio State University in 2012. Following graduation, she practiced both large animal and companion animal medicine for 4 years before returning to New England to be closer to her family. Since moving to Connecticut, she now spends her days treating dogs, cats, and the occasional pocket pet if the need arises. She sees her job as two-fold; improve the health of our beloved pets with as little stress as possible while simultaneously strengthening the bond between owners and their pets. Dr. Bedarf’s professional interests include complicated interdisciplinary medical cases, orthopedics, laceration and bite wound management and improving the wellbeing of veterinary professionals.
She has two very social cats named Bruiser and Luther. Bruiser’s primary interest is food and his life’s work has been finding food, regardless of the cost. Luther however, prefers to spend his time snuggling on the couch. When she is not in the hospital, Dr. Bedarf spends most of her time rocking climbing indoor and outside, hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding, and salsa dancing. She also spends a lot of time in the kitchen cooking and baking.
